This is a book I had as a child: Making Things: The Hand Book of Creative Discovery by Ann Wiseman. It was (and is) awesome. So many great projects–everything from papermaking, printmaking, painting, batik, making clothes, toys, finger puppets, musical instruments, go cars, you name it. I loved this book. I loved making things from it and loved just reading it and looking at the line drawings. My mom sent it to me fairly recently with some of my other old books and I’ve been having fun rediscovering it. Once again, I want to try everything in it.
I decided to start with some paper ornaments since Maia wanted to do some paper cutting. She snipped away at colored construction paper while I cut some of these out.
Next, maybe we’ll make the cardboard racing turtles or the kites!

So cool! They don’t have that book at my library, but it might be worth buying on Amazon. It’s actually pretty cheap!
My library does have another book by (I think) the same author. It’s called Making Musical Things: Improvised Instruments. That sounds like fun, too!
