We’ve made art and dyed easter eggs with bleeding tissue paper, but I never would have thought to dye shirts with it as well. Check out the tutorial over at Make and Takes — it’s a kid friendly process! I want to do this with the art group and also dye some onesies for the baby.

Aren’t these flower people on maya*made fun and fanciful? I think it’s time to head to the backyard and pick some flowers!

And I’d also like to try making our own chalk paint as on preschool daze. It looks easy and would be the perfect outdoor summer project.

What great ideas… quick question maybe you know – for the cute flower people, do they just use normal old glue to adhere the flower pieces to the picture? I need to make a b’day card for my stepmom and this just may be the thing I do with the boys to do that. Thanks!

MO – You might want to head over to maya*made and ask Maya that question. My guess is that these flower people are not glued onto the paper, but are rather just ephemeral art to be enjoyed for the day before they wilt. You’d probably need to press flowers and let them dry for a couple of weeks before you could use them in a more permanent arrangement. If you did that then you could probably use glue, mod podge, or a sheet of Con-Tact paper to hold the flowers in place. Another option would be to make the flower people, take photos, and use one of the photos for the front of the birthday card.

GREAT ideas. Love the idea of using my favorite technique (tissue collage) to decorate shirts. Gotta try it!
